How your clothes fit = how you feel in them. And we’re all about feeling strong, comfy, and totally being seen. Thats why, we've put together some Side Eye Shady tips to help you pick the style that actually vibes with you, not just what the tag says.
How to size like a pro
Every piece is unique so will fit differently to each, so seriously... don’t skip the size chart found on each item page.
For each item, we break it down so you know what’s what including armpit-to-armpit (aka half chest) and top-to-bottom length (neck to hem). And while we like to keep things unisex, we also include UK women’s size equivalents to keep it easy.
Example: our XL might vibe with a women’s 18.
Quick Tips:
Sizing can vary, so check the product description before ordering
- Measure yourself over the real you — not over three layers of sweats! That won't work, lets keep it accurate.
- Fabrics and body shapes vary (as they should!), so give yourself a little wiggle room. A 2cm difference? Totally normal.
Oversized Fit
Exactly how it sounds, oversized is designed intentionally to feel loose and relaxed on your skin. It will appear a lot larger than your average regular fitting garment and will create a slouchy comfortable look. It is worth noting that Side Eye Shady embraces the oversize look meaning most of our oversized fits will be one or two sizes larger than your usual size so our advice – if you want true oversize order your normal size but if you want oversized look on your normal size then order 1 or 2 sizes smaller.
Medium/Regular Fit
Just like Goldilocks found her perfect fit porridge – Medium fit is that perfect fit piece of clothing – a balance between not too loose and baggy but also not too tight on the skin – its just right! It should provide you with a fitted but flattering silhouette, comfortable to move in whilst still be super stylish in appearance.
Heavyweight Fit
Often this goes hand in hand with the Oversized look. Heavyweight clothes are exactly what they say on the tin – Heavier than the norm (although we like to think of it as cuddlier). The fabric is often made from thicker, more durable materials and as a result – may feel like a warmer garment compared to lightweight.
Lightweight Fit
In contrast to Heavyweight, lightweight fitting garments are on the other end of the scale. Often a lot lighter and as such, a lot thinner, they can sometimes be slightly sheer but that’s ok, its intentional, adds to the coolness and ultimately is why they feel perfect for the summer months. Mostly you’ll find the more medium/regular fitting clothes in a lighter weight fabric.
